Hiro is a product designer based in Tokyo with over eight years of experience. He currently leads product design at various companies as a freelancer. Previously, he worked at Mercari, the largest community-powered marketplace, designing platforms for both Japan and the US. Before starting his career as a designer, he studied design at Central Saint Martins, a constituent college of the University of the Arts London.

    • Mercari is one of the biggest second hand marketplace in Japan. I lead many projects for both Japan and US platforms. I have worked on various projects to create seamless selling experience and help sellers to increase their sales through Mercari.

    • I Joined Origami as an early member of the company when the team was under 10 people. At that time I lead many e-commerce projects to create an unique marketplace that Origami envisioned. When Origami went through a transition from e-commerce to payment platform, I was one of the core member to work on many of the features from the ground up.
